- Description of Methods: I will collect qualitative data and analyze the comedian’s work in unison with sociological theory. Some of the theory will be from classical theorists such as Georg Simmel and other relevant literature I have discovered on my own.
- Description of Data: My data will be qualitative. I will observe and analyze sketches from episodes of Chappelle’s Show and The Boondocks, in addition to some comic strips.
- Plan of collecting data: Research any prior literature written about comedy in sociology using the keywords “comedians” and “sociology”. Watch the entire series of Chappelle’s Show and The Boondocks, and its comic strip.
