All of the below logistics for 2022 are pending as per Bowdoin College and Maine CDC social distancing guidelines.

Housing: Bowdoin College will make basic housing in college dormitories and/or a college house available to participants. Please check back for details and fees. Many homeowners offer AirBNB in Brunswick and surrounding towns. Depending on Bowdoin’s health guidelines related to COVID19, plans for a residential offering are subject to change.

Getting to Brunswick:

Transportation: The Portland International Jetport (PWM) is the closest airport. A taxi from the airport must be arranged beforehand, and costs about $64 one-way (40 minutes). There is also an option to take a shuttle to the Portland transportation center, and from there, the Breeze bus to Brunswick (allow 1 hour 15 minutes for this option).

Another option is to fly into Boston Logan International (BOS). The Concord Coach Company offers a very comfortable bus ride directly from each terminal, on an hourly basis (and is usually the most cost-effective way to get to Brunswick). The cost for Concord Coach is $58 round-trip, and takes three hours. Some buses go directly to Brunswick, but most go to the Portland Transportation Center. If you taking Concord Coach to Portland, you’ll need to book at taxi to Brunswick (about $64). Call to confirm you taxi when you board the bus in Boston.

The Amtrak Downeaster runs from Boston North Station to Brunswick and takes about 3 1/2 hours.

What to Wear

In Maine we say, “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” Please bring layers! It could be chilly, or it could be hot. Regardless, we’ll be in a climate-controlled seminar room. Maine tends to be casual in the summer, even for evening events.
