Slow Seeing, Outside My Window – Favour Ofuokwu

These are all photos of the street outside the window of my bedroom all at different times throughout a few days this past week. I live off the main road, so as it gets warmer, it starts getting noisy with motocycles, ambulances, people blasting music out of their cars, and I usually see a little more people moving about. But with it being quarantine, this street has been quieter than usual, and all of the same cars stay in the same place. These photos are really interesting, all images are taken at different points of time, yet the only things that seem to be changing is the light of the sky.

Hey Favour! I think what I most like about your pictures is that you captured the same spot throughout the day so that you could see the light moving as it gets darker. Even though you are looking at the same photograph, it looks different every time with how you capture the light. I think the night time photos are interesting as well because you see only the immediate area as opposed to the area in the background which is exposed during the day. It is also interesting that the only thing you mention is changing is the light; however, aspects that you can’t control are changing too like the cars that are in frame and people walking through the photo, those changes are interesting to look at as well.
