Progress Notes: Week 14

  • Between weeks 8 and 14, each student should provide a weekly reflection (500 words) on the data you have collected to date.
    • What data did you collect?
    • What is your initial impression of the data?
    • How have the data you have collected this week changed/progressed your thinking about your research project?
    • What challenges did you encounter while collecting the data?
    • What are your next steps?

  1. My project is all completed! I keep on going over the website over and over again because I am in disbelief. At many points in the semester I did not think I would be able to finish it, or if I did finish, I was worried about the quality of work. I changed directions many time with this project which was probably one of the biggest contributors to my low esteem. However, I turned it around and pulled it together. I am proud of all the videos that I included in the digital exploration and even a few of the activities I designed. I feel like this format is way more engaging than a paper. I also feel like those that visit the site will really be able to understand why media hyperbolization is such a big issue as it relates to the perception of crime. I hope that this website leaves a positive and lasting impression!

I could just talk some more but I would rather that you check the site out and see for yourself!
