Throughout the novel, Alexandra makes sacrifices so that Emil can enjoy the life that she was never able to live. Does Emil’s act with Marie symbolize Emil living the impassioned life Alexandra worked so hard for Emil to indulge in?

I agree with Alexandra’s sacrifice. However, adding to your point, I’m not only thinking that she puts her effort for Emil’s indulgence but for the whole Bergson family’s happiness. The fact is that Lou and Oscar are bigoted and self-satisfied so that they don’t listen to Alexandra, the leader of Bergsons.
However, I don’t think Emil’s act with Marie symbolize Emil’s happiness, granted from Alexandra because I think both Emil and Marie were unhappy and unsure about their relationship until the last day they survive on the earth.
