Abstract (Statement of Topic)

In order to study the Sociology of Millennials, Michelle and I wanted to explore millennials’ communication habits. We interviewed seven Bowdoin College students, asking them various questions on their preferred mode of communication (texting or calling), how they convey emotion or tone over screens, and their concern or lack of concern for privacy on the Internet. Most of our interviewees had various responses to our questions, which proves that millennials communicate very differently. Using our interviews, we created a series of three short podcasts that focus on themes of privacy, authenticity, and Presentation of Self.
