One World Together At Home
Many musical artists have participated in some kind of virtual performance. Some artists choose to do live videos on Instagram where they perform songs for their followers while others record themselves singing at home and post those videos. Additionally, Global Citizen hosted a virtual concert called “One World Together At Home” that included many performing artists singing from their homes. For example, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello participated in this event and performed “What a Wonderful World” from home. This event gives viewers an opportunity to take a break from their responsibilities and enjoy beautiful music played live. These virtual at-home performances remind us that we will all get through this together.
25 Years of Disney on Broadway
In November 2019, Disney on Broadway hosted a concert celebrating the success of the Disney broadway shows. To raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, they live streamed the concerts again this April 2020 and encouraged viewers to donate to the cause. People were able to enjoy listening to classic Disney songs during a scary time in the pandemic, and the concert served as an opportunity for people to support an organization that will help people who are struggling.
