I don’t think I’ve drawn a self portrait since 8th grade art class, but I’m actually quite pleased with how this turned out. I was really concerned with likeness and how much it looked like me, and I found it really helpful to draw upside-down because I had too many preconceived notions about what my own face looks like. Crazy. I was nervous about doing the hair since the techniques for drawing hair I had definitely never learned before, but I’m also quite pleased with how that came out.
