This was a challenging assignment but I enjoyed it. I found the shading particularly difficult, but all of the previous assignments helped me in my process for this drawing. I enjoyed doing the hair the most of everything in the portrait. It was an interesting change going from drawing from another drawing to drawing the actual thing, I didn’t realize how difficult it was to capture the subtleties in shading and struggled with not making every shade more or less the same. I learned a lot in the process of this drawing and it certainly isn’t perfect but I spent a great deal of time on it so I’m happy with it. I hope to do many more and continue improving.
